ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Writing has been my passion since high school, when I was the sports editor and then the editor of the SQUALL at Atlantic High School in Delray Beach, Fla. Since graduating with a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Florida in 1979, I have worked in the newspaper business, working for the Stuart (Fla.) News and then The Tampa Tribune. I also worked for the Tribune's online site, TBO.com. When the Tribune was bought and closed down, I moved on to work on the National Content Desk for Cox Media Group.
